Many of his works are translated into English and become world’s collection. One of his renowned works is Arok Dedes, one of his Buru tetralogy describing the life of Indonesia as a country. Arok Dedes novel is written with 13th century Java as the background and employs many cultural bound words, especially related to Sanskrit and Javanese.
